The Kindle Fire has a color 7" multi-touch display with IPS technology and runs a version of Google's Android operating system. Kindle DX Graphite On July 1, 2010, Amazon released a new revision of the Kindle DX "Graphite" (3rd Generation Kindle DX). The new Kindle DX has an E Ink display with 50% better contrast ratio and comes only in a "graphite" case color. Like the prior Kindle DX, it does not have a Wi-Fi connection.
